Diwrnod y Ddawns 2015

A wonderful day of dancing was on the cards for the several CDWC members who attended the annual Day of Dance festival on Saturday the 18th of July at the National Botanical Gardens of Wales near Llanarthne.

Dancers from across Wales and the UK come back each year to enjoy the occasion and the invited guests this year came from as far afield as Russia, which leant a rather international flavour to the festivities.

Following the majestic procession that launched the day, the massed dancing that took place in the Gardens' central square was bathed in warm sunshine and watched by an eager crowd of spectators, some of whom were brave enough to step into the various twmpath dances with great aplomb.

It was a pleasure to dance alongside so many of the different teams and CDWC was at its best when showcasing our various performances. One of our favourites is the unique dance Rhuddem y Ddawns, which was written especially for the team to celebrate our 40th year and we were fortunate to have had Rhiain Bebb, who composed the music, alongside us in the band last Saturday.

Many thanks to all of the day's organisers and we look forward to taking part next year.
